Nuxley Make Club History

January 21, 2011
So its been a while since anything has been written about this club. The last time I posted was at a time of turmoil with Dany Shaw busting his arm and the departure of the clubs most prolific goalscorer Dean Hurford. Both were massive losses to what everyone has hoped was going to be Nuxleys season.

But now after a tough winter, with all but one game being postponed in December, injuries are healing - vice captain Darren Varney recovering from knee injury, left back Tim Allen coming back fro...

Onwards and Upwards

October 4, 2010

After weeks of turmoil at Nuxley HQ, it seems business has returned to normal. After last weeks 4-1 victory over a stronger than normal Newbridge Reserves at Danson Park, this week saw league new boys Docklands Athletic Reserves visit Nuxley's home of Hall Place.

Manager Jason Sullivan continued with his experimenting ways and started with an adventurous 3-4-3 formation. Nuxley started brightly and kept Dockland pushed into their own half for the first 15 minutes. Their best chance of this per...

Big Bear Saves 10 Man Nuxley

September 13, 2010

So with high hopes after last weeks impressive second half performance Nuxley arrived at Burgess United Reserves expecting an easy victory due to success against Burgess in the past. Burgess however had a very different idea. Their hard working and never say die attitude made Nuxley wait until the last 5 minutes to secure a victory.

A stunning first half strike from David Norris was the first moment of the game that caught anyones attention. Dean Hurford layed the ball back from a corner fo...

Nuxley FC vs Kingsdale FC

Princes Park 26/07/10

Finally the first game of the season has arrived. Both teams eagerly anticipating this fixture to find out how their season is going to start. With the Nuxley squad consisting of 17 players competition for places is high.

Starting with a 4-4-2, Nuxley struggled to put in what they ha...ve been working on during pre-season and struggled to maintain possession and string passes together. Kingsdale were by far the stronger team and were unlucky to on...

Nuxley Finish The Season Unbeaten in 6

July 8, 2010
So the final game of the season is here. After a long yo-yo-ing season it is upon us, managers coming and going, the club on the brink of folding, players coming and going quicker than your monthly wages do!

Nuxley were today facing tough opposition in the form of Hatchem Park Rovers, a team who earlier in the season gave Nuxley a 6-2 drumming. Nuxley were also contending with their ever builiding injury list, casualties being, Charlie Matthews, David Norris, Jamie, just to name a few along wi...

Nuxley Get Revenge on London & Rye

July 8, 2010
This was a game that really told how far Nuxley had come under the Managerial influance of Jason Sullivan.
Previously Nuxley had lost to thier opponants 9-1 in a game that Nuxley wernt that bad to be frank but never the less came out of it with a spanking. Early on in the first half Nuxley didnt have to many chances but also kept London to not much either with some sound defending and hard work from the midfield to get back behind the ball when out of possesion. We came in at half time at ...

Nuxley Grab 4th Win In 5

July 8, 2010
In a game that Nuxley knew that they could get something out of although Lefke had beaten them 2-1 at Hall Place three weeks before started off very very slowly.
Nuxley couldn't put the passes together and frequantly gave away posession for most of or all of the first half and were constantly on the back foot. The techniqe was not there for Nuxley but more than made up for it with sturdy defending and great passion to get back behind the ball. 25 mins in Lefke took the lead from a good str...

Nuxley Do The Double Over Their Rivals

July 8, 2010

The game got underway with Nuxley on the back foot, Eltham town had started the game with just 3 at the back
and looked to go all guns blazing from ko. Some resolute defending and great work rate from the midfielders kept the score line at 0-0 til the 20th min when Eltham made a break down the right and carved open a oppertunity for their striker to smash the ball into the bottom left corner and put them 1-0 up. it didnt look to good at 1 point for nuxley because Eltham had found a we...
